CONGRATULATIONS TO APACHE CROSSFIT'S AUGUST ATHLETE OF THE MONTH EVA O'NEILL!!!
Eva has crushed it since joining Apache. We are thrilled she is a part of our community and are all eager to watch her to improve further. Stay tuned for Eva's interview!!
We asked Eva a couple questions with the hopes of everyone getting to know her a little bit better; here is her interview:
1. When did you start CrossFit?
I started CrossFit in January
2. Favorite WOD?
My favorite WOD would be an AMRAP because then I don't finish last all the time . I love WODS with heavy weights
3. Least Favorite WOD?
Least favorite would be anything for time or with burpees ... Oh and I hate Fran, especially doing it forwards then backwards but I thought I deserved Uncle Doods donuts after it so maybe it wasn't that bad .
4. Favorite lift?
I really like the Olympic lifts .
5. Least favorite lift?
I really don't have a least favorite but if I had to choose it would be the back squat .
6. Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, interests, etc)
Im originally from Woodbrige NJ . Ive been married to my husband Tom for 3 years and we have 2 beautiful girls together , Elyse 4 and little Eva is 2 . Right now Im not working because I'm raising human beings but I've been a Hair Stylist for 15 years . Ive been playing competitive roller derby for 6 years . I love going to the beach , roller skating and cooking .
7. What were you doing before CROSSFIT?
I was doing random classes at the OCYMCA . I went to CrossFit Tigershark on and off for a little while but nothing consistent .
8. What were your thoughts after your first CrossFit workout?
Im pretty sure after seeing my first WOD I said to Maria "Are you serious?"
9. What are your current goals?
There are so many !! Pull Ups without a band , 100 pound snatch , hand stand walks , double unders but mostly to stop over thinking and clear my head and breathe during really tough work outs .
10. What advice would you give to a newbie just joing Apache CrossFit?
I still consider myself fairly new. I still get nervous walking into the gym or right before a WOD but the feeling of finishing something I thought I never could outweighs all of that . Stick to it , keep pushing and listen to your coaches . Its such a sense of family and Ive made amazing friends .
11. Something you might not now about me is…..
Im a cat lady .. Yup.. I have 4 cats and I like them to pile up on me at night as I watch my DVR'd soap operas and eat bacon cookies .
CONGRATULATIONS CAT LADY....I MEAN EVA!!
